Our Franchise Process

Become a Firehouse Subs Franchisee in Six Easy Steps

At Firehouse Subs, we’ve made our franchise process as straightforward as possible. Follow these six simple steps, and you’ll be well on your way to becoming a Firehouse Subs franchise owner!

Complete Request for Info Form

Firehouse Subs franchise

The very first step in our franchise application process couldn’t be easier: complete our online form or contact us by phone to receive a hard copy. As soon as you’ve completed and submitted this form, a member of the Franchise Development Team will contact you to discuss opportunities in your area. After our chat, we’ll email you the link to your confidential online application.

Once you’ve completed the application, we’ll send instructions on how to download and review the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD). This allows you to complete thorough due diligence, as it includes a detailed investment breakdown, financial performance, P&Ls for company-owned/operated locations, fee structure, and the names and numbers of all our franchisees.

Meet Company Leaders and Support Infrastructure

Our next step will be scheduling a meeting with a group of company leaders who are especially involved with our franchisees. By giving you the opportunity to interact with the team you’d work most closely with, this step in the franchise process helps potential franchise owners to get a better feel for the company. We want you to feel confident in the team that will be helping you have a successful transition and mentoring you throughout your time with Firehouse Subs.

Attend Discovery Sessions

Next, you’ll be invited to attend a discovery session. These are typically held twice a month on Fridays, and offered at either our headquarters in Jacksonville or as a virtual experience. You’ll learn our history, get further insight on our supportive infrastructure, learn each department’s role, and much more!

Regardless of background or experience, you’ll then be required to work in one of our training restaurants for two days. This self-directed time provides immense insight into what is needed to own and operate a Firehouse Subs.

Execute Your Franchise Agreement

The next step makes it real: once you’ve formed your corporation and we’ve completed a credit and background check, you’ll be issued a Franchise Agreement. Review the agreement carefully, then sign it. You’re now an official Firehouse Subs franchisee!

Find the Right Site and Execute the Lease

You will work closely with the real estate team and an independent broker to find sites in your area that fit Firehouse Subs’ requirements. Once you’ve found the right space, you’ll submit a site package to our real estate team, and they’ll make an approval decision. If they grant you approval, you’ll then work with our real estate broker to negotiate the terms of your lease. You’re free to execute your lease once our real estate team has reviewed and approved the final agreement.

Open Your Firehouse Subs!

Once you’ve completed the franchise process and your eight-week training course, the fun can begin! Our field support team will work alongside you and your crew to ensure that your guests are getting the full Firehouse Subs experience. As long as you follow our processes and procedures, your path to success is clear.
